Perhaps you're one of my friends who's been wondering why I don't write in here very often. I'm here to offer you not only an explanation, but also a solution.

My laptop was stolen November 16 between 4 and 5 AM. All was done to retrieve it, including a visit to the obliging Swiss police, but alas, it was not recovered.

January 11, I found a great deal on a Gateway computer, thanks to a tip from a friend of mine.

January 19, at 9:30 AM the computer arrived at my parents' house. At 11:30 AM my mom dropped off a cow-printed box at my office. At 12:20 AM I've installed my favorite programs, updated and registered what was already on the computer.

Now I'm looking for ways to fill up my 76 GB (um, somehow there are 4 fewer gigs than I thought) of harddrive space and reasons to create DVDs and CDs and movies and....

And I can once again type on a sweet little laptop keyboard. It's quieter than my other one was. No more of that really loud tappity-tappity and the ca-clicka-clicka of the mouse buttons.

Yay.
